SAFed Launches Safety Reference Point on the Web

The Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed), the trade body for the independent engineering inspection industry, has launched its own website.

Located at www.safed.co.uk , the site is aimed at those concerned with health and safety within the workplace.

Richard Morgan, Technical Director of SAFed commented. "SAFed has a wide ranging audience, which needs regular up-to-date information: Risk and Plant Managers, Health and Safety officers, Engineers, Finance Directors and Regulators can all benefit from regularly visiting our website".

The clearly defined sections of the site allow each different type of visitor to quickly and easily identify which information is relevant to them. Summaries of current SAFed publications can be found on the site and order forms for the full versions can be printed.

Richard continues. "Current issues can be debated in-depth in the Forum section of the site, whilst there is an E-mail facility where more specialist enquiries can be answered. Further information is available through Web-Links on the site, offering immediate connection to SAFed members' homepages."

An overview of SAFed's activities is outlined in a calendar of events, whilst more information can be found for each of SAFed's seven specialist Technical Committees (TC). Headed by a Technical Steering Committee, each TC's objectives and terms of reference are also listed, covering areas such as pressure equipment, machinery, electrical, welding and materials, Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Conformity Assessment and Power Presses.

Those interested in joining SAFed can find information and advice on the benefits of becoming a SAFed member on the site, along with a list of current membership criteria.
