Criteria for
Membership
Full Membership
Applicants must:
- Be an identifiable business unit undertaking,
as all or part of its business activities, independent third party
inspection and/or contributing to or undertaking testing and/or
certification of engineering and manufacturing plant, machinery
and equipment in the UK and/or the Republic of Ireland.
- Operate competently (as assessed by SAFEd).
- Agree to abide by the SAFed Code of Conduct
(See Chapter 3) and the principle of SAFed standards.
- Participate in SAFed technical projects
as far as is appropriate for member's commercial activity.
- Demonstrate firm financial viability
- Assume responsibility for ensuring that
compliance with articles 1.2(i) to 1.2(v) is maintained throughout
their period of membership.
Associate Membership
Applicants for associate membership must:
- Be an identifiable business unit undertaking,
as all or part of its business activities, independent third party
inspection and/or contributing to or undertaking testing and/or
certification of engineering and manufacturing plant, machinery
and equipment in the UK and/or the Republic of Ireland.
- Operate competently (as assessed by SAFed).
- Agree to abide by the SAFed Code of Conduct
and the principle of SAFed standards.
- Participate in SAFed technical projects
as far as is appropriate for member's commercial activity.
- Demonstrate firm financial viability
- Assume responsibility for ensuring that
compliance with articles 1.2(i) to 1.2(v) is maintained throughout
their period of membership.
NOTE: Associate members will
be expected to apply for full membership if and when they meet the
relevant criteria.
* The Irish National Accreditation Board (NAB) in the case of members
registered in the Republic of Ireland; The F¬S passport if in Eire
